Democrats of miracosta college
The Democrats of MiraCosta College was founded in April of 2016 by freshman Spartans, Kyle Bright and Samantha Bustamante-Winters. Both wanted to organize students on campus and knew MiraCosta could make a difference in San Diego politics. We started out with just 10 members, but we were able to punch well above our weight - sending six interns and dozens of volunteers to Doug Applegate's 2016 Congressional campaign. While the General Election didn't go how we had hoped (by any stretch), a real passion for activism was brought out in our peers. Our membership increased to 36 students and
our first fundraiser was a huge success. We're proud
to have helped start our sister chapters at CSU San
Marcos and Palomar College too.
